RPAS for Fire and Emergency Services

RMIT Researcher Dr Reece Clothier to provide keynote address at the Symposium on RPAS Applications in Fire and Emergency Management.

The Australasian Fire and Emergency Service Authorities Council (AFAC) and National Aerial Firefighting Centre (NAFC) are teaming with Australian Association for Unmanned Systems (AAUS), and the Australian Research Centre for Aerospace Automation (ARCAA) to present a one-day user-focused symposium and exhibition on the application of RPAS in Fire and Emergency Management. The purpose is to explore current RPAS capabilities, and risk management in the current regulatory environment.

AAUS Gathering Storm: Unmanned Systems Outlook in Australasia

RUASRT researchers will be attending and presenting at the upcoming Australian Association for Unmanned Systems (AAUS) “Gathering Storm: Unmanned Systems Outlook in Australasia“.

Dr Reece Clothier will be presenting on the topic “Australian Civil UAS Industry – Status, Threats, and Opportunities”.

The conference will explore opportunities in the region in the military and civilian domains. It is an event that should not be missed.

The 2015 conference will be held over three days at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre (22nd-23rd of February 2015) and at the Avalon on the first industry day of the Avalon International Air Show (24th February 2015).

2015 International Conference on Unmanned Aircraft Systems (ICUAS)

The call for papers for the 2015 International Conference on Unmanned Aircraft Systems (ICUAS’15) has been released.

ICUAS’15 aims at bringing together different groups of qualified military and civilian representatives worldwide, organization representatives, funding agencies, industry and academia, to discuss the current state of UAS advances, and the roadmap to their full utilization in civilian and public domains. Special emphasis will be given to current and future research opportunities, and to ‘what comes next’ in terms of the essential technologies that need to be utilized to advance further UAS.

16th Australian International Aerospace Congress


The 16th Australian International Aerospace Congress will be held in February 2015 at the Melbourne Convention Centre. This biennial event is Australia’s premier aerospace academic forum held in conjunction with the Avalon Air Show. The call for papers for the Congress has been released (more information here).

The Fourth Australasian Conference on Unmanned Systems, in affiliation with the Bristol International UAV Systems Conference, provides a premier forum to present and discuss all aspects of Unmanned Systems, both civil and military, from basic research to technology developments.

AEROTech 2014 Conference

AEROTECH V conference is a platform for academia, government agencies and industries to share current status in aerospace technologies, expand professional networkings, and also offer possible collaborations for technology advancement. The conference has now entered into its fifth edition since its inception in 2005, organised by the Department of Aerospace, Universiti Putra Malaysia and will be held in Kuala Lumpur, the national capital of Malaysia.

The conference program includes keynote lectures and about 100 invited technical presentations in the specialised areas of aerospace engineering. The preliminary list of the invited guest speakers will be announced soon.
